Sausage Rolls

Delicious served warm from the oven, great for parties, lunchboxes or picnics or simply a satisfying snack!

Serves: 12, depending on size


  1. Make up flaky pastry as recipe.
  2. Preheat oven to fan 200°C, conventional 220°C, gas 7.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry into a rectangle approximately 20cm x 24cm.
  4. Cut into 2 lengthways.
  5. If using sausages, slit the skins and remove. Roll the sausage meat with floured hands into a sausage shape, as long as the pastry.
  6. Dampen along the edge, roll the pastry over to enclose the meat, and seal well.
  7. Cut into lengths, place on a lightly greased baking tray and brush with egg or milk and make three cuts on top using a pair of
  8. kitchen scissors.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes or until the pastry is well risen and golden brown.
