Brandy Sauce

A seasonal favourite to serve hot with Christmas pudding or mince pies. Alternatively, try replacing brandy with your favourite tipple, try whisky, rum or your favourite liqueur.

Serves: 8-10


  1. In a small saucepan melt the butter on a low heat.
  2. Add flour and beat until smooth with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add milk gradually and beat gently, but thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Add sugar.
  5. Gently bring to the boil and then simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring all the time.
  6. Add brandy, serve hot with Christmas Pudding.

  • 500ml milk
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 4 Tbsp brandy
